It didn't actually, but we saw a play called The Play That Goes Wrong, so it fit. Today actually started with Camden Market. This is a huge market in North London that's a combination of a tourist souvenir market, and general store for Londoners who want a variety of unusual items ranging from steampunk clothes to decorative arts to James May's wardrobe. There's also a variety of street foods on offer from all corners of the globe, and some Western themed food stalls that have very specific focuses. We found one that sold nothing but duck related items, and got duck spring rolls, duck pastrami, and duck fat fries.
From Camden Market, we went to a play in London's West End called The Play That Goes Wrong. This show will be coming to Broadway in 2017, directed (unusually) by J.J. Abrams. After seeing it in London, we can say two things. First, J.J. Abrams actually makes sense as a director for this show. Second, you should go see this show, because it's hilarious.
After that, we went back to the hostel for Christmas dinner. We thought there would be a lot of participants, but alas, there weren't. Those there were did bring a variety of foods and drinks. Adam made latkes, which were well received. There was Slovenian wine, and homemade Slovenian wine liqueur, which was incredible. There was mixed vegetable salad, lox, Christmas pudding, soju, and a few other assorted foods that seemed incongruous out of context, but made for a convivial Christmas/Chanukkah feast.
Tomorrow will be more Christmas stuff.
